Wakulla Book Review - Seventh Dimension - The King, Book 2: A Young Adult Fantasy by Lorilyn Roberts

Summary: The King continues the adventure from The Door. However, the twist in this book is that it's through the eyes of Daniel. All the things that happened with Shale had another side of the story to be told: Daniel's.
The King, however, opens up more twists and plots to weave through in search of some destination for these two.

Author purpose: Clearly two purposes are available.
1: Entertainment
2: To provide readers a view of what the search for the Messiah is like.

Author Theme: Seek and ye shall find. Know that your treasures are in heaven, not on earth.

Thesis: One has to believe in the Messiah in order to receive all the blessings that He has in store for us.

Author Stance: A couple of good points come up that Daniel struggled with in the book.

1: Honor over love.
2: No sexual relations before marriage.
These topics were covered very well.

Enjoy: An absolute must if you read The Door. And if you read The King you'll have to read The Castle as Roberts leaves you hanging again. Thank you, Lorilyn.

Another Brilliant Addition to Roberts' Seventh Dimension Series

Wakulla Book Review

Seventh Dimension – The Castle, a Young Adult Fantasy

Summary:  Another brilliant addition to Roberts’ Seventh Dimension Series. The saga continues with Daniel on his quest seeking answers to the truth. Daniel witnesses betrayal, crucifixion, and learns of the resurrection—all while learning who he really is and “why him”?  But don’t worry. Roberts doesn’t disappoint in The Castle either. She’ll leave you hanging again for the next book.

Author Purpose:  Roberts’ message is clear in that all should come to know Christ. While persuading the reader on this, she also challenges one to [examine] Scripture to back it up. Nice work!

Author Theme:   A journey to discover truth

Thesis:  Our Father doesn’t want any to perish. We just have to believe. Have faith. Make the right choices.

Author Stance:  The obvious one is the belief in Christ while showing the major crux in the Jewish believers between the Orthodox and the Messianic.

Enjoy:  Can we speed up The City A little bit? I’m dying here. Love this series.  Thank you.

Wakulla Book Review: Daily Discussion of a Doubting Disciple by Dana Rongione

This is a devotional book filled with humor and encouragement.  Ms. Rongione shares her life and lessons with us as we journey together to draw closer to Jesus.  She is very candid and witty.

I could relate to each short story.  The entries are things we all go through, and Dana says what a lot of us want to say but don't actually have the nerve to say!  In other words, she keeps it real!!

I learned a lot, took some hard hits, and laughed a lot.  This is one of the most thoughtful and encouraging devotional books I've read.

A gotta have it book!!  Bravo!!

Wakulla Book Review: Christian Olympics by S.E. Gregg

“The Christian Olympics” by author S.E.Gregg is a pretty good read. The book covers a wide variety of issues confronting Christians.

The book is interesting and thought provoking in its analogy of a Christian's life being like the Olympics. Struggles with life's little problems are broken down into categories such as competition, preparation, and exercise.

In reading this book, I was encouraged to realize that my struggles in life can be likened to a race where I can do better through diligent training, spiritual exercise, and a commitment to overcoming adversity.

I enjoyed the book as a father because it addresses parenting and related subjects helpful to anyone with teenagers.

Finally, the book is well written with reasonable scriptural references. I especially enjoyed the presentation of the material in an uplifting and meaningful manner as opposed to  some books whose authors are more dogmatic or demotional view to express their points.

I would suggest new Christians, newly married, and new parents read this book - and yes, athletes too!

Wakulla Book Review: The Map Quilt by Lisa J. Lickel

An exciting story that combines the actions of a past generation with those of the future or present generation, creating a cause and effect.

Julietta is out to solve a family mystery that began in the 1860s along the famous Underground Railroad. Fighting for the land that her free ancestors had obtained in the first of the 1800s, this African-American woman is in a fight for her life.

Hart and a very pregnant July get caught up in Julietta’s adventure which includes murder, theft, threats and near disaster.

Involving family, friends and unlikely acquaintances, Hart and Judy learn and grown as God leads the way. With a very adventurous wife, a new baby, and a mother who is beginning to date again, Hart wonders if he’ll survive.

This book has the elements of love, hate, loyalty, betrayal, anger and forgiveness rolled into a well-written package. Ultimately, it’s about the true treasures of life—family and friends.
I’d give this book five stars on content and adventure with a touch of history blended in.

A very easy read that I would recommend to older preteens and up; male or female
