Another Opportunity to Share My Passion for the John 316 Network

2.0 out of 5 stars
How to self publish, April 20, 2012
By A. Domanska "Coffee Addict" (Port Stephens, Australia)
This review is from: How to Launch a Christian Best-Seller Book, The John 316 Marketing Network Manual (Kindle Edition)

"If being successful using the print on demand medium and a network of enablers is your goal, you may get something out of this book."

Here is my response:

Please note that most of the authors in our network are not published by Print on Demand but are traditionally published.
My books are published by Print on Demand, but I am in the minority rather than the majority. I chose to publish this way for a variety of reasons. But we don't make a distinction. The question I asked myself when I started the Network is does God really care how books are published? I mean, publishing is a man-made invention. Scripture was written by hand in letters to people, to churches, and others. Oftentimes, it becomes a source of pride if an author isn't careful. Again, we deliberately don't make a distinction.

Enablers -- yes we are definitely enablers. We are enabling the reader to have choices.
They are the gatekeepers now of what they want to read rather than it being determined by an overworked, oftentimes underpaid editor sitting at a slush pile. There is always gold in those slush piles, some gems that probably in the past missed being discovered. Limitations put on the editor by a publishing house and economics in the past dictated many of those decisions.

We are enabling Christian worldview books to have greater exposure.
We are enabling all Christian authors to help each other get their books rated higher as they compete against books that do not present a Christian worldview. One of the best ways to do that is through social networking and "enabling" Christian authors to connect. In so doing, we are spreading the Gospel to the reading world on many different levels, just as the church preaches it from the pulpit, just as missionaries share the Gospel on the missionary field. We do it with our "pen."

As is stated in the Bible, "They will know we are Christians by our love." We fight a spiritual war and the best way to win that battle is through love. Thanks for your review. I always look at the lowest review of any book as it tends sometimes to say more about the value of a book and the reviewer than any of the five-star reviews. You have given me another opportunity to share my passion for the John 316 Marketing Network.

What Others Are Saying!

It contains many pertinent observations about the state of the book industry today, particularly based on the author's efforts to market her inspiring book "Children of Dreams." But of most value is a wealth of very specific information about achieving success with your book on Amazon. This alone makes the book a great and valuable read, whether or not you actually join the Network.

A place where Christian authors help others launch their books and bring Christian books out into a world that needs them.
--Author Amanda Stephan
How to Launch a Christian Bestseller is a lifesaver for any Christian writer who hopes to succeed in the marketing side of being a writer. Every writer dreams of selling books, but most writers don't really want to do the selling. In my own case, the first time I seriously contemplated what was required to sell books, I went into a personal state of panic. Selling is sooooo not me.

 What Others Are Saying...

"This book has totally given me a new look into the Scripture. More importantly, Mr. Shafer gives us the tools that we need to begin to take a deeper look into our dream life." Joyce M. Gilmore

"Scott Shafer has released a prophetic book to the Body of Christ and to a world that is searching for a God who is mysterious and sometimes out of the reach of human understanding. What Every Dream Means is a wealthy deposit on the subject of dreams. It has given me the answers that I have needed for most of my spiritual life." Pastor Bernard Boulton

"This aspect of Christianity is almost completely ignored today. The author does an excellent job of reviewing examples of dreams and their messages in the Bible, but then also tackles the difficult issue of how a modern person should approach this idea of communication with God through dreams." J. Stein

Scott M. Shafer is a bestselling author and speaker. His innovative training materials are available as digital resources, in seminars, workshops and retreats along with his book What Every Dream Means. Scott not only has the ability to understand and interpret dreams but is also deeply committed to mentoring and training others how to interpret and how to fully engage all aspects of the dynamic dreaming cycle. Scott has been working with, studying and researching dreams since 1985. He has imparted life-changing revelation and light into hundreds of lives.

King on a Donkey

Easter Guest Post by John Miller
Photography by Lorilyn Roberts

His entrance into Jerusalem is personal, deliberate. There is no armed escort. There are no chariots, no jeweled robes, no marching soldiers, no shining shields, no flashing helmets, no glittering spears, and no heralding trumpets. Yet, Jesus of Nazareth enters Jerusalem as a king - a conquering king - sitting astride a donkey colt.

As He crests the hill, Jesus stops to let the donkey rest a moment. He sees Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives just off to His right.  The city is now cosmopolitan and swollen with nearly 250,000 Jews gathered from far and wide, preparing for the annual Passover.

Herod's temple rises above an enormous platform, its tower rising over eighty feet to proclaim dominance of the Jewish population. Its Roman influence in design, as endorsed by Herod, is detestable to many city Jews. Yet, the Jewish homes and palaces that dot the hillsides are also designed with a Roman influence. These are the abodes of the rich priests, merchants and their families living alongside the Romans, while lesser Jews live in crowded neighborhoods of simple homes and work the small shops that line the streets.

Their collective lifestyle has become much like their alien oppressors, while their ancient culture holds remnants of sacred rituals born in the Tent of Meeting during the Exodus. Most Jewish hearts of this city are dark with hatred of the rebel Jesus, who is about to ride into the city with the swarm of followers. The Temple leaders have been informed of the unwelcome throng of rebel flesh by Temple spies who ran ahead of the King’s procession. Jesus knows all this and His heart is deeply saddened.
