Wakulla Book Review: "Get on Board and Stay on Board" by Pearl Nsiah-Kumi

This book is an inspirational/devotional designed to educate, encourage, and empower the reader. Through the use of poetry, life-lessons, and corresponding Scripture, the book covers a wide array of topics, essential to living life in a way that’s pleasing to God.

I especially enjoyed the opening of this book. The author attempts to clarify who God is, and distinguish Him from other deities, and does so in a manner that’s not judgmental or adversarial. I also enjoyed the author’s presence of mind to not write only to those who believe in God, but to those who may not believe, or to those who may be searching for a better way.

Her love for God, Christ, and the desire for her fellow men and women to come to know, and love them as well, is clear and that love radiates from, and flows through this book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone searching for a clearer understanding and connection to God, as well as those looking to turn to God for the first time.

Wakulla Book Review: Get on Board and Stay on Board, by Pearl Nsiah-Kumi

“Get On Board and Stay On Board” is a book of short simple writings and poems that share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The book is divided into three sections: a) Jesus is Calling; b) Saved, Now What? c) Special Days.

Jesus Is Calling - is directed to the unsaved. These writings are straight forward and simple. Pearl is very blunt and direct in sharing her faith, yet comes across as caring and concerned. Her passion for Jesus and witnessing to the unsaved is very refreshing and encouraging.

Saved, Now What? – is geared toward helping the newly saved babes in Christ to grow in their relationship with God. Pearl does an excellent job of encouraging the new believer. These writings share what we’ve been saved from, what we’ve been given, and what we should do in response. Pearl gives instruction on day-to-day life as a Christian, in simple, easy to understand language.

Special Days – is a small section in which Pearl talks about the reasons we as Christians should be celebrating and thanking God for all He has done and provided for us. It is very informative and easy to understand.

Overall, Get On Board And Stay On Board is a well written work. Pearl has been blessed with a gift of sharing in a simple, easy- to- understand way. I find the book to be informative and refreshing. I recommend it to anyone who has any questions at all about the Christian life and the salvation found in Jesus Christ.
